Operation Roundup

An opportunity to make a difference in your communities

The KEM Electric Board of Directors approved “Operation Round Up” for its members at the January 2002 board meeting.  Each board member has appointed a person from their district to serve on the Operation Round Up board.  The new board established the bylaws and guidelines for the distribution of funds received from “Operation Round Up”.

The KEM Electric Cooperative Operation Round Up trust officers are as follows:

  • Dan Schuler, Wishek
  • Pam Gross, Napoleon
  • Tony Schaffner,  Zeeland
  • Viola Gefroh, Hague
  • Bernie Schiermeister, Hazelton
  • Jean Schoenhard, Steele
  • Gerard Meier, Venturia

The Operation Round Up program is completely voluntary.  All new KEM Electric members are enrolled in Operation Round Up.  Your power bill will be automatically rounded up to the next nearest dollar each month and the money placed in a fund.  It’s a simple way for pennies to add up to significant dollars to be used for charitable giving.  For example, if your power bill is $74.62, it will be rounded up to $75.00.  You would donate $0.38 to the KEM Electric Operation Round Up fund that month.  Monthly Round Up amounts could be as little as $0.01 but not more than $0.99.  On average the program would cost you about $6.00 per year.

Together, by giving a few cents a month, KEM Electric members can make a big impact on life in our area.  The Operation Round Up board, the KEM Electric Board of Directors, and KEM Electric staff hope that you will pitch in to realize the OPPORTUNITIES WITH OPERATION ROUND UP.
