Electric Heat

KEM offers an off-peak rate to homes/shops with a qualified electric heat system with an approved backup system such as storage heaters, an automated operational fossil fuel furnace, or floor heat. The requirements are as follows:
- Electric heat must be the primary source of heat or must have a minimum of 12 kW and must have an approved backup system such as storage heaters, an automated operational fossil fuel furnace, or floor heat to qualify for rebate and be sub-metered.
- Minimum of 8 kW thru 11.5 kW can be sub-metered but no rebates apply.
- Must be inspected before any special rate applies.
Free baseboards or rebates are available for qualified installations.
Financing is available for qualified installations.
