How Does North Dakota One-Call Work?

If you plan to dig, call 811.  Lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  A new, federally mandated national "Call Before You Dig" number, 811 was created to help protect you from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging project.

Be prepared to pinpoint the location of your dig with the exact street address, directions and suffixes (lane, street, drive), or township, range, section and quarter section.

You'll need to describe the type of work to be done and some detail as to where you are working on the site.

Plan your start date and time to comply with the state law (at least 48 hours before digging, excluding weekends and holidays).

The Utilities Underground Location Center telephone number is: 811.
