February Touchstone Energy Student of the Month
In strides to support local students and schools, KEM Electric Cooperative is awarding a monetary donation to students across the service territory through our Touchstone Energy Cooperative® Student of the Month program. Tucker Vander Vorst wa
s named the February Touchstone Energy Student of the Month. He is a senior at Strasburg Public School. Tucker is a student aide, involved in student council and is active in band, football and basketball. Outside of school, he volunteers at church.
“Tucker has shown great leadership skills not only while working with elementary students, but also on the football field and basketball court with his teammates,” says Tucker’s nominator. “Tucker is an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates leadership, character and service.”
Tucker plans to use the funds towards supporting activities within the school.
Throughout the school year, KEM Electric chooses one student at random who has been nominated from the schools in KEM Electric’s service area to receive monetary sponsorship in partnership with Touchstone Energy Cooperative. The sponsorship money can be utilized for the student’s choosing for school activities.
In March, KEM Electric is accepting nominations for students from Wishek Public School. The deadline for nominations is March 15. This sponsorship is open to any K-12 student.
